Deepak Chahar and CSK staff members test positive for Covid-19

Apart from a current India limited-overs player, several Chennai Super Kings (CSK) staff members have been found corona positive. This forced the franchise to force some more days of quarantine for their players and staff members. The cricketer who is found corona positive is a fast bowler and has represented India in the recent while. Digitalsporty understands that the cricketer is Deepak Chahar, who has recently represented India in the 50 overs version of the game. It was reported that the members were tested positive after they landed in Dubai.

The BCCI had made three corona tests compulsory for all the franchise teams before the players can start practising. However, the contingent of CSK underwent the fourth corona test on Friday. The results of the test will be known on Saturday and CSK will be hoping that the corona threat don’t haunt them further.

Chennai Super Kings arrived in Dubai on 21st August and were on a six days quarantine period before it was extended till 1st September, following the members of CSK contingent testing positive. IPL 2020 is scheduled to begin from 19th September.

A league source said that the results of all Covid-19 positive came on the first, third and sixth days of the team’s arrival. A senior IPL source told news agency PTI (as reported by India Today) on the condition of confidentiality, “Yes, apart from a right-arm medium pacer playing for India, some other franchise members tested positive for Covid-19”
