Manoj Tiwary- India

The 35-year-old is certainly in the twilight of his career and has turned his attention to politics ahead of 2021 Bengal legislative elections. The Howrah born cricketer has played 12 ODIs and 3 T20s for India, with his last International appearance coming way back in 2015.

Tiwary joined Trinamool Congress(TMC) in the presence of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and said that the she is trying to unite people.

“The BJP is playing a divisive policy and (CM) Mamata Banerjee is trying to unite people. When I play cricket, I play for the country, not on the basis of religion,” Tiwary was quoted as saying, reported by The Indian Express.

Ashok Dinda

The 36-year-old Ashok Dinda lost his place in the Indian team after 2013 and picked 29 wickets in all. He recently announced his retirement from all forms of cricket and was the right time to turn his attention towards politics.

The Purba Medinipur district born cricketer joined BJP in the presence of party leaders like Suvendu Adhikari, BJP MP Arjun Singh, and Minister of State for Environment Babul Supriyo.
