BCCI announced Indian team for the ICC Women’s World T20 2018 and announced Harmanpreet Kaur as the captain of the 15-member team. The tournament will be held in West Indies from November 9 to 24 with the host team starting as the defending champions.

Smriti Mandhana who has been in sublime form in limited overs cricket was announced as the vice captain of the team.Senior pro like Mithali Raj and Veda Krishnamurthy were also picked in the team. Other star attraction includes Deepti Sharma, Ekta Bisht and Jemimah Rodrigues.

India are placed in group B alongside Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan and qualifiers Ireland.

India will square-off against New Zealand in Guyana on November 9 in their tournament opener. They next face arch-rivals Pakistan on November 11 followed by Ireland on November 15 and Australia on November 17.
