How a Cricket related question stopped KBC contestant from winning 7 crore rupees

Kaun Banega Crorepati was on its real best when one of the contestant Ajeet Kumar went onto play the question for 7 crore rupees. The 11th season started on 19th August 2019 and saw three contestants reaching the crore mark in the quiz based game show. However, Kumar was the only one to play for 7 crore rupees.

Kumar, who originally hails from Hajipur, Bihar had won Rs 12.5 lakh in the last episode with the help of two lifelines. He took some time but answered the 13th question to bag a massive sum of 25 lakh rupees. The question read ‘To take up a legal battle on behalf of which firm did Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi go to South Africa in 1983?’ The answer of the question was Dada Abdullah and Co.

For the 14th question, he used his 3rd lifeline where he chose expert advice from India Today editor Shweta Jha. ‘Who was the first captain of India’s national football team after independence?’ The answer of the question was Talimeren Ao.

He was again stuck at the 15th question for 1 crore rupees which read ‘Which was the first British satellite to have been launched by a British rocket?’ He used his 4th lifeline 50:50 to answer the question. The correct answer was Prospero. The jackpot question of 7 crore rupees halted his journey in KBC and interestingly it was based on cricket. ‘Who is the first cricketer to score two T20 International fifties on the same day in two different matches?’ The correct answer was Mohammad Shahzad.

Shahzad, who is facing a ban from Afghanistan cricket board, achieved this feat when he smashed back-to-back 50+ scores on the same day during the 2017 Desert T20 Challenge against Oman and Ireland.

Ajeet, who works as a jail attendant and has been working for Indian Railways for over 15 years, left the stage with a massive 1 crore rupees.
