India gave the befitting reply to Australia’s sledging in the third test by thumping the hosts by 137 runs to take a 2-1 lead in the domain test series and retain the Border Gavaskar trophy. Young Rishabh Pant was on the radar of sledge hammer as Australian captain Tim Paine asked the Delhi batsman to do babysitting for his wife so they can go to a movie.
“I tell you what, big MS (Dhoni) is back in the One-Day squad, we might get (Pant) down to the Hurricanes, this bloke. We need a batter. Fancy that, surely, extend your little Aussie holiday, Beautiful town, Hobart, too. Get you a nice apartment on the waterfront. Have you over for dinner you Babysit? I’ll take the wife to the movies one night and you’ll look after the kids?,” Paine said.
Pant brought his calmness into the act and didn’t say a word at that time but turned out with the sledges while Paine was batting.
The 21-years-old from Roorkee called him a “temporary captain” for which he was notified for his wrong behaviour by the match officials.
