IND vs SA: Only 4% tickets sold for the 3rd test at Ranchi

The third Test between India and South Africa will be played in Ranchi from Saturday. The Indian team, led by Virat Kohli, has already taken an unassailable 2–0 lead in the series. India will be looking forward to win the last test and win 40 points from the game to consolidate their numero uno position in World Test Championship.

Only 4% tickets sold for 3rd test

In the dead rubber, JSCA has faced a big setback after less than 4% of the tickets were sold. The stadium boasts of a 39000 capacity but only 1500 tickets were sold which comes as a huge embarrassment for the state governing body, despite quoting the tickets price as low as 250 rupees per day. However, they have distributed 15000 complimentary tickets to army personells and school kids.

“Next time, maybe we have to think twice before hosting a Test match. At the same time, we can’t say no also. If the state associations start rejecting Test cricket, the purest form of the game would die. It’s very sad to see empty stands. We have to make certain changes to the Test format,” said Nafis Khan as quoted by the Indian express.
