India vs England 2nd test playing XI

After England registered a 31 runs victory over India in the first test, the focus now shifts to the second test at the iconic Lords. A win from here will put England in the driving seat and will become close to impossible for India to script a series win.

Day 2: England captain Joe Root won the toss and choosed to bowl first.

Root– We are going to bowl first. Looks a fresh wicket. With the weather around it gives us a good chance to take wickets this morning. We are gone with Woakes and Pope comes in to make his debut. We gave ourselves an option with that green tinge. He (Pope) was all excited in the dressing room yesterday, just really hope he plays well.

Changes– Ollie Pope in for Dawid Malan, Chris Woakes in for Ben Stokes

Virat– It’s a hard pitch, looks dry. The wicket looks good, much better than Edgbaston. We have to enjoy the game. We have brought back Pujara and Kuldeep Yadav comes in the side for Umesh. We have a good balance looking at two spinners and two quality all-rounders.

Changes– Kuldeep Yadav in for Umesh Yadav, Cheteshwar Pujara in for Shikhar Dhawan
