After winning 2 medals on the 6th day of the competition, Indian athletes will eye more medals on day 7. Badminton, Table Tennis and Squash players will compete in the individual events from today. Hima Das will be in action in women’s 400m, not to forget, the girl from Assam is on her first International outing, having qualified for CWG by clinching a gold medal in Federation cup by defeating heavyweights like MR Poovamma and Juana Murmu. 16:40 pm: Indian men’s hockey team defeats England 4-3 to top their pool. India scored twice in last 3 minutes of the game, they will face New Zealand in the semi finals.


16:30 pm: Tejaswin Shankar fails to clear the 2.27m mark for the third time. He is out of the men’s high jump competition and finishes 6th in men’s high jump final.


15:33 pm: Boxing: Manish Kaushik defeats Calum French of England by unanimous decision to enter the semi finals.

12:40 pm:  India’s Sathiyan Gnanasekaran/Manika Batra beat Malaysia’s Ho Ying/Leong Chee Feng 3-0 in mixed doubles round of 32 clash.


11:55 am: Ankur Mittal wins bronze in men’s double trap. He was in gold medal position for majority of the rounds but a disappointing last two rounds made him falter to third position.

10:50 am: India’s Shreyasi Singh takes gold in women’s double trap shooting event. She was tied at 96 with the Australian Emma Cox. In the shoot-off she hit both the targets, on the other hand Emma missed one target, to give Shreyasi the gold.

Other Indian in contention was Varsha Varman who had to settle for the 4th place after disappointing last round.


10:40 am: India’s Vikas Krishan is through to Semis (75 kg boxing) with a win over Zambia Boxer in QF, assures a medal.
