Sourav Ganguly and Ricky Ponting were two top leaders in the start of 20’s when they lead India and Australia respectively. A resurgent India were the only team in that era who could challenge Australia and even won many test matches and ODI’s. The two teams met in 2003 World cup where Australia won in a one-sided affair but the fierce battle between two skippers continued further until Rahul Dravid took the charge of India.
However, these two greats of the game will now share the dressing room together and maybe its the start of an unexpected friendship between the two. Ponting is currently the head coach of Delhi Capitals and he will be joined by Sourav Ganguly, who will serve as the advisor of the team. The former Kolkata Knight Riders and Pune Warriors India player will now make the strategies to pip the opposition. The news was confirmed by the official account of Delhi Capitals on Thursday.
It will be interesting to see how two of the most influential skippers can bond together and work for the betterment of Delhi Capitals(formerly Delhi Daredevils).

The Delhi based franchise brought some astronomical force into action and changed the name from Daredevils to Capitals to embark on a new journey which may change their fortunes. They will be lead by Mumbai batsman Shreyas Iyer and will start their campaign against star studded and three times champs- Mumbai Indians.
