A total of 971 players from 11 countries have registered their names for the auction for the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) released a statement on Monday and informed about the same. The last date for registering the name for auction in the 2020 IPL was 30 November 2019. Now the players will go under the hammer in Kolkata on 19th of this month. These include 713 Indian and 258 foreign players.
A total of 73 spots are to be filled in the auction and for this, 215 players who have played internationally will participate. At the same time, 754 players who have not yet played at the international level have also registered for the first time in the IPL. Apart from these two players are from Associate Country. All the teams in this tournament have been given time to make their shortlist of players by 9 pm on December 9.
A total of 19 such players have registered from India, who have played at the international level so far, while 634 such Indian players have not yet played at International level. There are also 60 such Indian players who have not played at the international level but have played at least one IPL match.
Talking about foreign players, 196 foreign players, who have played international level, have registered for the upcoming season of IPL. At the same time, there are 60 such foreign players who have not played at the international level yet.
