Karan Johar planning to make a biopic on former India captain

Biopics of famous cricketers like MS Dhoni and Mohammad Azharuddin have allready did wonders on silver screen. People are craving for real life stories which become a source of their inspiration and there might be another reason for the real life story lovers to rejoice as another biopic on a cricketer will hit the silver screen in the coming future.

Meanwhile, if reports are to be believed then famous Bollywood director and producer Karan Johar is planning to make a biopic on legendary Indian captain and current BCCI President Sourav Ganguly. The former captain has a pretty good story to tell as he was a footballer in his initial days but started playing cricket, following the footsteps of his brother. He was also selected over his brother in the junior Bengal team and that’s where his story began.

The prince of Kolkata also has an interesting love story with his wife Dona Ganguly. Its been said that both were neighbours and fell in love with each other in their childhood days. However, their families had some enmity with each other but Ganguly managed to convince them and marry his childhood sweetheart.

Another cricket based sports biopic to hit silver screen

According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, Karan Johar and Sourav Ganguly recently met in Mumbai for a discussion over a possible biopic. Dada looked impressed with the idea and gave his consent over the same. Reports further added that the two are looking forward to a perfect actor to portray the role of “Sourav Ganguly”.

Talking about the upcoming sports biopic, Ranveer Singh starrer 83 is set to hit the theaters next year. The movie depicts how the Indian team defied all the odds to win the 1983 world cup under the leadership of Kapil Dev. Shahid Kapoor is also shooting for another cricket biopic, which will be a Telugu remake of movie “jersey”.
