Prime Minister Narendra Modi wishes Indian contingent good luck for CWG

Before the start of the grand event at Gold Coast, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi wishes Indian contingent good luck for CWG. As 227 athletes strive for glory, Modi tweeted “All the best to the athletes representing India at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games! Our sportspersons have worked tremendously hard and the Games will be a wonderful opportunity to showcase their talent. Every Indian is cheering for our contingent. @GC2018″

The CWG opening ceremony wil be held on Wednesday where Olympic silver medalist PV Sindhu will be India’s flag-bearer at the event. The ceremony will be held at the Carrara stadium, Gold Coast(Quensland). The multi-sport extravaganza begins on Wednesday with over 6600, with 271 gold271 silver and 282 bronze medals at stake.

 


India have sent a strong 220-strong contingent to the 21st edition of the Games. The biggest medal hope will rest on Jitu Rai, PV Sindhu, Mary Kom, Mirabai Chanu and Sushil Kumar.
