R. Ashwin feels this team will dominate like Australia did in 2003, 2007 World Cup

Team India is currently plying its trade in the ongoing cricket world cup where they are currently at the number three position in the pool after two wins in as many games. The men in blue first pipped South Africa by 6 wickets in Southampton and they followed it up with a win against defending champions Australia by 36 runs in London.

The Indian team led by its inspirational skipper Virat Kohli will next face an uphill task against New Zealand in their third game of the tournament. The men in black pipped the Indian team in their first warm-up game by 7 wickets and it will be a matter of redemption for India.

The team is looking balanced with match winners in batting and bowling departments which makes them the firm favourites to win the world cup.

R. Ashwin makes a bold prediction

Out of contention off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has said that India will dominate the ongoing world cup like five times champions Australia dominated in 2003 and 2007 edition of the show-piece event. India will go on to dominate this World Cup as Australia did in 2003 and 2007,” Ashwin said during an event.

The 32-year-old lauded the efforts of India’s spin twin of Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav for their impressive efforts in the recent while. “Chahal and Kuldeep have been doing well for a while now. Chahal has performed well in the World Cup also,” he added.

The Tamil Nadu off-spinner will next ply his trade for the English county side Nottinghamshire in the second half of English summer.
