Rohit Sharma will hit his first double century very soon

Hard hitting Indian batsman Rohit Sharma has received heap of praises from former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly. Rohit has scored three double tons in ODI cricket, which makes him the only batsman in cricket history to score three double tons in ODIs. The Mumbai batsman is also has the highest individual scorer (264) in ODIs to his name. Rohit Sharma will hit his first double century in t20s

On the occasion of the launch of his book, ‘A Century Is Not Enough’, in Mumbai on Wednesday (4 April), Ganguly predicted that Rohit Sharma will hit his first double century in T20s very soon.

As per Hindustan Times, Ganguly said, “Sachin scored first hundred in ODI and taking inspiration from him, Rohit has gone on to score three double centuries in ODIs. The day is not far when we will see him scoring the first double century in T20s too.”

Rohit will continue to lead the defending champions Mumbai Indians in the IPL. He is also the most successful captain in IPL history, leading MI to three IPL trophies.

Steve Smith has been handed over one match suspensionMeanwhile, Ganguly expressed his sympathy for Steve Smith, who was suspended by Cricket Australia for his involvement in the ball-tampering scandal in South Africa.

“Smith is a good human being. Of course, what happened is unfortunate but I’m sure he will make a comeback to Australian side and we will see him play again. I feel sympathy for him.” he said.

Smith alongside David Warner was suspended for one year by cricket Australia for the famous ball tampering controversy that took the world by storm. Cameron Bancroft, the other accused was handed over a 9 months suspension.
