Shikhar Dhawan set to play for this North India based IPL franchise

Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan is set to move from Sunrisers Hyderabad to Kings XI Punjab for the upcoming IPL season. Dhawan was send to the auction after Sunrisers Hyderabad refused to retain him and he was eventually bought by Kings XI Punjab for a sum of 5.2 crore rupees but Sunrisers claimed the right to match card on him to retain his services.

It is learned that the southpaw from Delhi had some issues with the Hyderabad based franchise and was set to move to his former team Mumbai Indians. Amid all these speculations it is now confirmed that the left handed batsman will now play for Kings XI Punjab at almost double salary.

He will swap place with Karun Nair, who failed to impress in the last season for Kings XI Punjab.

With his move to the North India based franchise, KXIP opening combination will look more than formidable with the likes of KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan at the top.

An official call on his transfer will soon be made as the transfer window ends.
