India produced some spectacular show to seal the ODI series in New Zealand with an unassailable lead of 3-0 with two more matches to go. Indian batters showed tremendous display to take on the New Zealand’s bowling attack with ease and the spin duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal created lot of havoc in the hosts batting order.

With Virat Kohli rested for the last two ODI, former U19 cricketer and 2018 U19 world cup’s highest run getter- Shubman Gill might get a chance to make his India debut in the 4th ODI. Virat Kohli was also vocal about the talent that youngster from Fazilka possess. He said that he was not 10% of what Gill is at 19 at the post match presentation of the 3rd ODI in Tauranga.

“I saw him bat in the nets and I was like wow I was not even ten per cent of that when I was 19,” Kohli said.

Former India captain Sourav Ganguly has backed Shubman Gill to play the fourth ODI against New Zealand. Ganguly feels that Gill should play the rest of the series and should be given ample of chances before the world cup.

“I think they should play Shubman Gill. He certainly deserves a chance in the team. He should play the rest of the series. Who knows, India might get another good player for the World Cup. Virat Kohli has also said that he didn’t bat like Gill when he was his age, which is a great thing to say for a captain,” Ganguly said while speaking to India Today.
