Suresh Raina replaces Ambati Rayudu in Indian team for England tour 2018

Blasting Uttar Pradesh opener Suresh Raina replaces Ambati Rayudu in Indian team for England tour 2018, the BCCI confirmed on Saturday. Rayudu who was named in the squad following his heroics in the recently concluded IPL for Chennai Super Kings was named in the team, however, unfortunately for him he failed to clear the YoYo test on Friday, which forced the BCCI to axe him from the squad. Raina cleared the YoYo test and was named in the team over Rishabh Pant, considering his vast experience.

The 31-year-old Raina, has played 223 ODIs for India with 5568 runs. He is also a part of the current T20 squad. Raina last played 50-over format in 2015 October and is making a comeback after two years and 8 months. Raina scored 445 runs in CSK’s title-winning campaign at an average of 37.

Not to forget, surpassing the YoYo test is compulsory for selection in the Indian squad.

Earlier, Sanju Samson also failed to clear the YoYo test and was replaced by Ishan Kishan in the India “A” squad for England tour.
