Cricket got revolutionized with the introduction of T20 cricket that set many batting records which looked more than impossible two decades ago. No body would have imagined a batsman hitting double ton in ODI cricket which was only a par score in ODI cricket by a team in late 90’s. But Sachin Tendulkar changed the mindsets when he became the first man on the planet to score a double century in 2010 against a strong South African team in Gwalior(Madhya Pradesh).
Blasting opener Virender Sehwag next notch up a double hundred which was followed by Rohit Sharma who currently has three double hundreds to his name and the highest score in ODI cricket- 264 not out against Sri Lanka at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Several other batsmen like Chris Gayle, Martin Guptill and Fakhar Zaman have also reached the rare milestone which has made us think of a batsman who could become the first man to hit a double ton in T20 cricket. On that note, we discuss the probable contenders who can reach this milestone in coming time-
3- Aaron Finch- Australia
The 2018 T20 cricketer of the year and probably the most destructive batsman of the current era, Finch holds the record of two highest individual scores in T20 Internationals, which included a 172 against Zimbabwe last year, falling short of double figure mark by just 28 runs.
Considering his attacking instinct in batting, the Australian limited overs captain may soon notch up a double ton in T20 cricket.
