Virat Kohli has changed the fortunes of Indian test team since he was named the captain way back in 2014 Australian tour when MS Dhoni retired. The Delhi lad has also notched up six double hundred as a test cricketer after a horrific test series in England in 2014 which just brought an end to his cricketing career.

As a batsman he has been way too exceptional but his captaincy records also speaks the volume of his leadership skills. The 29-year-old has led India in 39 test until now and triumphed in 22 test and is also the second most successful test skipper after MS Dhoni, who had 27 wins under his belt.

He is just 6 wins short of surpassing MS Dhoni’s record of being the most successful test captain for India. Dhoni had registered 27 wins in 60 matches but Virat will have a good chance to do it before that number and eventually have a good average in captaincy as well.

Everything seems to be going the way of Indian captain but one thing is for sure not by his side and he might not look at it often.

The Toss record

Virat does not enjoy a great average in winning the toss. Leading the side in his 40th test match, Virat Kohli has only won 18 toss as a captain and lost on 22 occasions.

In the Oval test, Virat again lost the toss which brought some expressive impressions on his face. But its still a thing which can’t be controlled by either of the captain.

Initial toss record

Interestingly, Virat lost his first toss in his debut test as a captain way back in 2014 at the SCG against Australia. It may have been an indication back then that the relationship between Virat and toss will be a sour fruit to ingest.

Record in ongoing England series

Virat lost all the toss in the Edgbaston, Lords, Nottingham, Southampton and Oval test.
