Saha, playing for Mohun Bagan against Bengal Nagpur Railways (BNR) at the Kalighat ground, achieved the rare feat. His inspired innings turned the match in favour of his team as they chased down a target of 152 in only seven overs in a JC Mukherjee Trophy game today.

Saha, opening the batting with skipper Subhomoy Das (43* off 22) was in terrific form, his blistering century included 14 sixes and four fours.

“I could feel from the first ball that I was able to hit the ball in the middle and I went for it,” Saha, who loves to open the batting in limited overs cricket, told reporters after the match. Not sure of this being a record, but looking into the IPL, I tried to play different shots and it worked.”

Saha is considered as a test specialist but his fast paced innings in IPL proved his ability to score quick. Who would forget his 115* off 66 balls, playing for Kings XI against KKR in crunch IPL finals 2014. His innings came at a time when team was struggling after loosing quick wickets at the start and he was send to bat at no. 4.

In the IPL, Saha has represented Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders and Kings XI Punjab playing 104 matches scoring 1557 runs.
DK’s quickfire in the finals of Nidahas trophy 2018 and now Saha firing in the club cricket is a happening sign for Indian selectors who are constantly searching for a finisher in the limited overs side. Will their search finally come to an end? Well the time tell the rest.
