Yuvraj Singh feels these two teams can win the 2019 World cup

The count down to the upcoming world cup has allready started with all the participating teams announcing their 15-man squad for the marquee tournament. Cricket experts and pundits allready started the build to the tournament by predicting the winner of the tournament and the majority think that India are England are the firm favourites to lift the cup.

Meanwhile, former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh has also donned the prediction hat and spoke about his favourite of the tournament. The 37-year-old is currently playing for Mumbai Indians where he has scored 98 runs in four matches. The veteran of 304 ODIs last featured for the national team in 2017 and since then his bad form has not helped his cause of getting a national call-up yet again. He was the man of the tournament of the 2011 world cup but after getting diagnosed with cancer in the same year, his cricket career took a turn and he was not the same player which he used to be before the deadly disease.

Yuvraj makes a prediction

The man from Chandigarh feels world no. 1 ranked ODI team England and world no. 2 ranked team India are the firm favourites to win the tournament. Hosts England have never won a world cup despite introducing the gentlemen’s game to the world, India on the other hand have won the coveted trophy for two times in 1983 under the leadership of Kapil Dev and in 2011 under the leadership of MS Dhoni.

“My first two teams are England and India. Obviously with [David] Warner and [Steven] Smith coming back [from their ball-tampering bans], Australia will be in contention. West Indies also look a very power-packed side. You can’t say much at this stage. I think it would be India and England first, third would be Australia. Fourth I don’t know. I will tell you later…,” Yuvraj Singh was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.

The 2019 world cup starts with hosts England taking on all time favourites South Africa on 30th May. India will start their campaign against South Africa on 5th June.
