India was thrashed by a low lying New Zealand in the fourth ODI in Hamilton by eight wickets with more than 35 overs left in their innings. Indian batters disappointed with the bat as they could just manage 92 runs and got bundled out in just 30.5 overs.

Dinesh Karthik, Kedar Jadhav and Ambati Rayudu failed to put up a batting display in absence of Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni. Debutant Shubman Gill was also not amongst the runs which completely exposed the Indian batting line-up in the absence of two big guns.

Number 10 batsman Yuzvendra Chahal was the top scorer in the game for India with an innings of 18 runs. India was struggling at 40/7 at one stage but his 25-run stand with Kuldeep Yadav ensured that India reach the score of 92 runs and save the team from huge embarrassment.

The same story was repeated in the final ODI when India were 18/4 at one stage but thanks to heroics of Ambati Rayudu and Vijay Shankar that rescued India from a tricky situation and the late flourish by Hardik Pandya took India’s total to 252 runs.

Indian bowlers then came up with a plot and contained the Kiwi batsman for just 217 runs and won the game by 35 runs to take the series 4-1.

After the match, fans favourite segment Chahal TV was hosted by Yuzvendra Chahal where stand-in skipper Rohit Sharma was the special guest once again.

Chahal maintained the comic quotient of the show and hilariously asked Rohit to let him bat at number three in the T20 series against New Zealand in the absence of Virat Kohli.

Rohit’s reply

“He [Chahal] was our top scorer in the previous match that we lost. But I want you to be the top scorer in a match which goes on to win. I will speak to Ravi Bhai for your promotion to No.3 in the T20s.” he said during Chahal TV.
