In 2017 she made it back into the final round of the European Badminton Championship in Kolding, Denmark. But her pace was stopped by defending champion Carolina Marin with score 14-21, 12-21. Gilmour earned a silver medal. She made headlines when she entered the quarter finals of Badminton world championship. The Scottish shuttler lost to Saina Nehwal in quarter finals but won hearts of the people. Glasgow,Scotland served as the event venue. On the back of her impressive run this year she is bought by Bengaluru Blasters. Premier badminton league 2018 will be her debut season.
