Date for Vijender Singh's debut bout in USA announced

Professional turned Indian boxer Vijender Singh failed to land a fight in 2018 and later went onto sign a multiyear deal with America’s Top rank promoters on 20 November 2018 and is currently training in the United States of America. He was expected to make his US debut in April 2019 but an eye injury during the training session delayed his much awaited debut.

During his off time from boxing, Singh unsuccessfully contested from South Delhi constituency in the recently concluded general elections from the ticket of Indian National Congress(INC). He lost to the eventual winner and sitting MP from the seat- Ramesh Bidhuri of BJP and Aam Aadmi Party’s Raghav Chadha to claim the third spot.

Vijender Singh’s US debut confirmed

The fans have been eagerly waiting for Vijender’s next bout and there is some happy news in store for them. The 33-year-old will make his US debut on 13th July against local favourite Mike Snider in Newark, New Jersey.

“…@boxervijender will make his US debut on 13 July at the Prudential Centre in Newark, New Jersey under @trboxing against Mike Snider. It is set to be an eight round contest. Snider has a record of 13-5-3…,” Vijender’s India promoters IOS boxing said in a tweet.

Vijender Singh competes against Ernest Amuzu

The Bhiwani lad last competed in a professional bout way back on 23rd December 2017 against a much fancied Ernest Amuzu of Ghana. The 2008 Olympic bronze medallist didn’t left any stones unturned and thumped Amuzu in a 10 round bout by a unanimous decision at Sawai Mansingh stadium in Jaipur.
