Afghanistan pulled-off a spectacular tie in their last super 4 encounter against India and finished the tournament on a high. India needed 7 runs of the last over with 1 wicket remaining and Rashid Khan came to bowl for the Afghan team. Ravindra Jadeja scored a boundary on the second bowl which brought the equation to 3 off 4 balls. Jadeja tucked one ball on legs for a single when Khaleel Ahmed came to the crease who had faced 17 balls and scored 1 run in List A career.
The Rajasthan bowler got a lucky single courtesy of an inner edge which brought the equation to 1 off 2 balls. India was expected to pull-off a victory from there but Jadeja miss-timed a pull and Najibullah hung on to a pressure catch. This was India’s 8th tie in ODI history while the first for Afghanistan.
