2- Ed Joyce- England and Ireland

The southpaw started his cricketing career with his home country- Ireland in 2006 till 2007 before switching to play for England. The 40-year-old was included in England’s squad for 2007 world cup and scored fifties against Kenya and Canada.

Joyce was dropped from the England team following his inconsistent run and that made him to switch back to his native country- Ireland in 2011. Under the ICC rules, a minimum of four years is required for a player to qualify to play for another country but ICC allowed Joyce to play for Ireland which got him into the Irish world cup squad of 2011.

Joyce later went onto make his test debut at 39 years and 231 days and he became the oldest Test debutant of this century. The Dublin born cricketer had earlier confessed that he switched to play for England in order to play the test cricket. He said that he was good enough to feature in the longest format of the game which forced him to switch to England way back in 2007. However, his dream of playing test cricket and featuring for his native nation came true in 2018 when Ireland played its first ever test match against Pakistan.

Joyce scored first runs for Ireland in test cricket and later became the first batsman from the country to be dismissed in the longest format when he was adjudged leg before before(LBW). A week after the Test match, he retired from all forms of cricket.
