IND vs WI: Rohit Sharma gives an injury update after he gets retired hurt in 3rd T20

India thumped West Indies in the 3rd T20 at St. Kitts by 7 wickets to take 2-1 lead going into the last two T20s. After winning the toss, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma asked the home team to bat first. Brandon King and Myle Mayers added 57 runs for the first wicket to give a solid foundation to Windies innings. Mayers(73 off 50) kept firing before Bhuvneshwar Kumar got the better of him in the 17th over. Final overs flourish ensured that Windies reach 164 at the end of 20 overs.

India faced a big setback when skipper Rohit Sharma was retired hurt at a score of 7 runs to create some concerns in the Indian camp. Suryakumar Yadav’s match winning knock of 76 from 44 balls ensured that India reach home comfortably with 7 wickets left and one over to spare. However, all eyes were on the injury condition of skipper Rohit Sharma and he finally gave an update during the post match presentation.

“My body is ok, we have a few days in between so hopefully it should be ok,” said Sharma.

India will now travel to United States to ply their trade in the 4th T20 on 6th August and with a gap of 4 days between the matches, Rohit Sharma may well recover on time.
