23 September will be the official start of the 19th Asian Games as the medals event will get underway from tomorrow after a grand opening ceremony where Chinese President XI Jinping will attend the ceremony. India’s only event scheduled for the day is the group stage clash in table tennis.
The rise of Indian hockey has been the talk of the town and after the historic bronze medal finish at 2020 Olympics under the leadership of Manpreet Singh, Indian hockey is sure to reach greater heights. The leadership role of the team is with drag flicker Harmanpreet Singh who will be the flag bearer for India in the opening ceremony and he will be accompanied by boxer Lovlina Borgohain. She won the historic bronze medal for India at Paris Olympic games.
