BCCI announced Indian team for one-off test against Afghanistan

BCCI announced the Indian team for one-off test against Afghanistan which will begin from June 14 in Bengaluru. Ajinkya Rahane will be the captain of the team in the absence of regular skipper Virat Kohli, who has opted to play the county cricket in England.

Karun Nair, who has been out of reckoning since the magical innings of 300 against England at Chennai, has made a comeback, at the back of his impressive performance in the domestic tournaments and IPL 2018.

Rohit Sharma who was a part of the test team that toured South Africa, was rested by the selectors, ahead of India’s tour of Ireland and England. Pace spearheads Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar were also rested for the one-off test.

Cheteshwar Pujara and Ishant Sharma, who are currently playing the county circuit in England will return to participate in Afghanistan’s debut test match.

Shardul Thakur was the new addition in the team.
