Men in orange: Team India's orange jersey unveiled by Nike

The long awaited India’s away jersey was unveiled on Friday as India gears up to play against England on 30th June in Birmingham. Indian team’s official apparel partner “Nike” unveiled the orange colour away kit.

“Team India will debut its first ever Away Kit in Birmingham on 30th June 2019. The ODI and Away Kit designs launched this year are inspired by the young new generation of India and the fearless spirit of the national teams.

“While the new engineered mesh and strategically placed sweat zones help enhanced breathability for the team on the field, new placket construction, the flex crest, garment cut angles and slash taping all add to making the new jersey lighter, more breathable and helps the athletes be agile on the field.

“The new total orange and blue colored Away Kits also moves away from a traditional silhouette to using new innovative cut lines alongside dynamic material combinations to emphasize a Multi-dimensional Slash Design and Movement approach,” Nike said in a statement.

England take on India in a do or die encounter

India will face a depleted England in a spin friendly conditions at Edgbaston in Birmingham on 30th June 2019. This will be a must win encounter for England to stand a chance to qualify for the semi-finals of the world cup. A win for Eoin Morgan’s led side will ensure that Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will be out of contention for a place in last four.

India dethrone England to become number one in ODI rankingsIndia defeated West Indies in their last encounter by a comprehensive margin of 125 runs to almost guarantee a place in the semi-finals. While, England lost their last two encounters against Sri Lanka and Australia to be on the cusp of elimination from the show piece event.

Pakistan is currently at the 6th spot in the points table with seven points in 7 games. They will need to win their next two games against Afghanistan and Bangladesh and will have to rely on the performance of other teams to qualify for the semi-finals. If Pakistan manages to win their remaining two games and England lose their one of the two matches then Pakistan will sail through with 11 points.

If Sri Lanka manages to win their remaining three encounters then they will not rely on other’s performance and will make the semi-finals of the show piece event. Bangladesh are also up with a contention with seven points in  games.
