Pakistani opener Nasir Jamshed banned from cricket for 10 years

Pakistan opener Nasir Jamshed has been banned for 10 years by the board’s Anti Corruption Tribunal after found guilty of spot-fixing scandal in Pakistan Super League. The incident took place in the 2016-17 season.

According to the reports in Dawn News, the 28-year-old southpaw batsman cannot take part in any kind of cricket for the next 10 years. That means he will be 38 year-old when the ban will be lifted from him and it is unlikely that he will mark his return to the ground again.

“There are some cases which don’t make you happy despite you winning it. This is one such. Because a player has destroyed his career due to spot-fixing and failure to report approaches,” PCB’s lawyer Taffazul Rizvi told the reporters outside the PCB headquarters in Lahore.

Jamshed was arrested by the National Crime Agency last year in February and he is currently on bail in UK.
