Rishabh Pant reacts after missing out from India's world cup squad

Delhi batsman Rishabh Pant was at his supreme best as he guided his IPL franchise Delhi Capitals to a 6-wicket victory over a low lying Rajasthan Royals. Pant played a blistering innings of 78 runs off just 34 balls which includes six fours and four massive sixes. His 74-run stand with Prithvi Shaw and final over flourish meant that Delhi reached the target with four balls remaining in the innings.

A happy Rishabh Pant spoke to Murali Karthik after he was adjudged the man of the match for his match winning knock where he said that ouster from India’s world cup squad has been playing on his mind.

The selectors surprised many by picking Dinesh Karthik over hard-hitting Rishabh Pant, quoting that the former cricketer is a better keeper than Pant and team may require to field him behind the wickets if Dhoni is injured for a crucial game like semi-final or final.

Pant gave it back to his critics by playing a match winning innings for DC at Sawai Man Singh stadium against Rajasthan Royals. Chasing 192, Pant and Shaw took the charge and took their team home which also took DC to top of the table.

“I am feeling lovely. To make your team win in an important match is a good feeling,” Pant said.

“I won’t lie, the World Cup selection has been on my mind. I focused on my process, I trusted my prowess and it worked for me,” he added.

Pant was named as the backup option for India’s world cup squad. He will be included if any of the team member gets injured midway the tournament.
