MS Dhoni was dropped from the T20 squad that played against West Indies at home and away series against Australia which has marked the end of his T20 career. Dhoni was in sublime form in this year’s IPL but his form has dipped since then. The Ranchi lad was said to be dropped as captain Virat Kohli and his deputy Rohit Sharma agreed to prefer a youngster over him in shortest format of the game.

With the exclusion from T20 squad, there were questions asked about his future in ODI format as the rise of Rishabh Pant was pushing Dhoni to perform in order to retain his place in the team. Meanwhile, skipper Virat Kohli has stepped up and said that “Dhoni is still an integral part of the team“.

During his off time from cricket, Dhoni participated in a local tennis tournament in men’s doubles category and went onto win the tournament.

Dip in form but the Dhoni’s brand value still remains the same

The former captain was recently signed as the brand ambassador of watch brand “Panerai”. The brand picked him to play a charity football game named Panerai’s ‘Heroes for a Cause’ event.

Dhoni played the match with some entrepreneurs, bloggers,  Paneristi and children from SOS Children’s Villages of India, a child NGO which received the amount of money after the auction of a MS Dhoni signed watch.

A Luminor Submersible 1950 3 Days Automatic 42mm with blue rubber straps carrying MSD’s autograph was auctioned.

Eddie Wang successfully placed a winning bid of INR 8 lakh to get his hands at the valuable collectible.

“Panerai is a leader in the luxury watches segment and we are thrilled to have facilitated this partnership where the brand story will be told using MS Dhoni who is renowned for his leadership skills. There is a very natural fitment between the brand attributes and MS Dhoni’s personality which makes this association very exciting” said Arun Pandey who manages Rhiti sports which manages Dhoni’s commercial deals.
