3. After IPL Dance Party Culture

No matter which team wins or lose, players are spotted in IPL Dance parties post the match. This party culture is associated with the IPL since its first season in 2008. However the culture has produced some controversies like the incident in 2012, when Indian cricketer Rahul Sharma and South African pacer Wayne Parnell were caught in a rave party. The police discovered some illegal drugs and also arrested the two players.

Both the cricketers said that they unknowingly went into the party and didn’t consume any drug. Rahul Sharma also said that he will stop playing cricket if the drug test will be positive. However, his statement proved wrong when the medical reports arrived after some months, which revealed that both the players consumed the drugs on that day.

In 2011, a cheerleader named Gabriella revealed in a blog post that some players treat the IPL cheerleaders in a very wrong way and they also try to get the sexual favours from them. Gabriella accused some of the South African and Australian players. Following the shocking IPL controversy the accused players were ousted from the IPL.

In 2011, RCB player Luke Pomersbach was accused of molesting IPL cheerleaders, and this incident took place at the time of IPL dance party.
