After retirement from cricket, India’s highest wicket taker in test cricket- Anil Kumble has went onto become a master tactician of the game following which he become the coach of Indian team from June 2016 to June 2017. Kumble playing career lasted for close to two decades in which he played under many influential captains. He stepped forward and named his favourite captain to lead India and to everyone’s surprise it was neither Sourav Ganguly neither MS Dhoni or Virat Kohli.

Kumble picked Mohammad Azharuddin as his all time favourite captain. Its worth mentioning that Kumble made his India debut when Azhar was the skipper of the team. The man from Bengaluru who featured in 132 tests and 271 ODIs for India added that her wife is a huge Dhoni fan.

“She(Kumble’s wife) always takes a picture with him when we meet,” Kumble was quoted as saying by Sportstar.

Kumble picked 956 wickets in his illustrious 18 years of International cricket and also captained India in 14 matches.
