Asian Games 2023 cricket: Schedule, fixtures, match timings, teams, venue
Cricket was last played at Incheon Asian Games 2014 where Sri Lanka emerged victorious

Indian men’s and women’s team will be the firm favorites going into the cricket event of 2022 Asian Games scheduled in Hangzhou, China which will be played in T20 format. The other top teams which are also top contenders include Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Interestingly, Afghanistan has not sent their cricket teams to the tournament which will be played at Zhejiang University of Technology Pingfeng Cricket Field.

In the women’s discipline, 9 teams will battle it out for the medals while 13 teams in men’s category will take the field. The women’s matches will start on 19th of September and the quarter finals will be contested on 21 and 22 September where four automatically qualified teams will compete against the rest. The semi finals will be played on 24th September and the gold and bronze medal match will take place on 25 September. Its worth mentioning that India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Pakistan automatically qualified for the quarter finals directly on the virtue of their ICC rankings.

Pingfeng cricket ground, the venue to host the cricket matches at Asiad

In the men’s cricket, the event will begin on 27 September where nine teams are divided in three groups and the rest four- India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have automatically qualified for the quarter finals. After the conclusion of group stage, the knockout matches will take place on 3 and 4 October with the semi finals scheduled on 6 October. The gold medal and bronze medal match of the men’s event will be played on 7 October 2023.
