Former tag team champion released by WWE

WWE News: Former tag team champion released by WWE

Curtis Axel is the new entrant in the lost of wrestlers who were released by WWE. Its worth mentioning that superstars like Rusev, Kurt Angle and others were released by the company in order to check their finances which has been impacted due to coronavirus. WWE is not heavily reliable on TV broadcast for the debts as matches are happening behind closed doors and fans can not witness their superstars live in action from the arena or stadiums.

WWE issued a statement on the release of Axel. “WWE has come to terms on the release of Curtis Axel. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”

Axel is the son of “Mr. Perfect” Curt Henning and he had a run as Intercontinental champion, won the tag team title twice with Bo Dallas and was a part of Miztourage with The Miz. Axel was a promising talent in his initial days in WWE when he was managed by Paul Heyman, worked with CM Punk but later  just faded away with time. After Miz went to SmackDown, Axel and Dallas formed their tag team named- B Team and got success after winning tag team titles twice.

In the recent while, Axel was not doing much on the WWE Television and rightly was released by WWE to cut down their expenses.
