After a historic day for the Indian contingent, where the Indian hockey team finally won the bronze medal match against Germany in a thrilling finish. India was trailing 1-3 and they made a thunderous comeback to win 5-4 to win a chance to stand at the podium after 41 years. Indian wrestlers didn’t fail to impress as well, however top seed Vinesh Phogat lost in her second round and a biggest gold medal hope for India was shattered.

Now the action moves to the third day day of the Olympics and Indian athletes will look to bag more medals to better the London figure of 6 medals. Aditi Ashok has been superb in the women’s gold event and if she can hold down the position, she stands a good chance of a historic podium finish. Bajrang Punia will also be in action on the day alongside women’s wrestler Seema Bisla. Indian women’s hockey team will play a tough bronze medal match against defending Olympic champion Great Britain.

Women’s 20km race walk final- Priyanka, Bhawna Jat- 1 PM

Men’s 4×400 relay round 1- India- 5:07 PM

Golf

Women’s individual stroke play day 3- Aditi Ashok (currently tied at silver medal position), Diksha Dagar- 4 AM

Hockey

Women’s bronze medal match- India vs Great Britain- 7 AM

Wrestling

Men’s freestyle 65 kg 1/8 elimination pre quarter final- Bajrang Punia vs Ernazar Akmataliev(Tunisia)- 8 AM onwards

Women’s freestyle 50 kg 1/8 elimination pre quarter final- Seema Bisla vs Sarra Hamdi(Tunisia)- 8:15 AM
