India started the T20 series on the losing note and rain spoiled the party for India in the 2nd T20 which could be a moment to equalize the series. In the all important 3rd T20, skipper Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthik’s heroics won the game for India to level the series 1-1.

Now the focus shifts to the test series where youngsters like Prithvi Shaw and Hanuma Vihari will have the best opportunity to cement their place. However, there will be some faces in the Indian team who will be eyeing to create an impact in order to retain their place in the team. Here’s a look at those three names.

The Chennai born test specialist had a more than ordinary test series in England and as a result the selectors dropped him for the last two test matches. The ousted from the test squad following the poor performance was an indication that the selectors are done with him.

Young Prithvi Shaw got a reward for his impressive performance in domestic cricket and MSK Prasad led selection committee gave him a chance to play in the test series against West Indies. Ignoring Vijay for the Windies series was an indication that the selectors want to invest in the younger talents but they again called him back for the overseas tour of Australia.

Vijay struggles to face the short ball and the conditions in Australia may not favour his front foot style of play. Whatever the situation is, the Chennai lad had to step on the peddle and be amongst the runs neither his permanent departure from the team India is way too near.
