Watch: "Fighter" Hanuma Vihari bats left handed in Ranji Trophy quarter finals, here's why

Hanuma Vihari, who was responsible for India’s famous draw in the third Test against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground in 2021 despite battling a hamstring injury has come a long way since then. He has been dropped from the test setup but his determination and grit to fight has never stopped. The Andhra batsman was seen batting left handed in the Ranji trophy quarter finals against defending champions Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday.

Vihari sustained a broken wrist after being hit by a delivery by Avesh Khan on a personal score of 16 and got retired hurt. However, knowing that the first inning total can be a decisive factor in the game as the team who has greater total in the first innings in the Ranji encounter is adjudged winner if a game ends in draw, Vihari again got on the ground to bat after the fall of 9th wicket.

The 29-year-old could only add 11 more runs to his tally and got dismissed by Saransh Jain but his fighting spirit and grit speaks the volume of his character and some twitter users were vocal about his return to Indian test team sooner than later.

Here’s the video

Andhra managed to score 379 runs courtesy wicket-keeper batsman Ricky Bhui (149) and Karan Shinde (110) run brilliance.
