Virat Kohli agrees to play day/night test match with pink ball

Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli has agreed to play the day-night test. The new BCCI president Sourav Ganguly on Friday confirmed that the Indian captain is ready for the pink ball Test match.

The new chairman Ganguly has always favored the day-night test matches which can bring more excitement to the longest format of the game and help filling the stadiums. For the first time on Thursday, Ganguly met skipper Virat and his deputy Rohit Sharma along with the selection committee and it is being said that day/night test match was discussed in the meeting.

Ganguly said at the felicitation ceremony organized by the Cricket Association of Bengal on Friday that they(BCCI) are thinking about it(day/night test) and we will do something about it. Before becoming BCCI President, Ganguly started the day-night test in domestic cricket when he was the President of Bengal Cricket Association.

Bangladesh team will tour India in November where they have to play a two-Test series under the World Test Championship. Both teams will play the first Test in Indore from November 14 and the second Test in Kolkata from November 22. Although no major decision has been taken yet on the day-night test, but there is a 50 percent expectation that one of the two Test matches can be played with pink ball.

Its worth mentioning that New Zealand and Australia played the first ever day/night test or floodlight test in 2015, where Australia emerged victorious by 3 wickets. India got the first taste of day night test during the 2017 duleep trophy tournament which was played at newly build Ekana International stadium in Lucknow.
